The manufacture of the Prince of Gruyère : Beaufort cheese in traditional or innovative farms. In summer, the manufacture of Beaufort cheese is made in chalets situated between 1900m and 2500m altitude. The cattle graze in alpine meadows accompanied by the sound of the alpine bells hanging on the neck of Tarine cows. A ski culture : in the 1920s in Peisey-Nancroix, tourism was started to develop in the Ponthurin Valley, and men made their natural way on skis to move and not to sink in the snow.
