Entre 2 Mers is an exceptional wine-growing region, between the Dordogne and the Garonne rivers. It gets its name from the fact that the Atlantic tides impact the level of these rivers on a daily basis. Here, we live to the rhythm of the vine which changes the landscape every season. Our campsite with its history of more than half a century is perfectly placed in the heart of this world-famous region
Since our arrival in 2014, we have done our utmost to create a friendly living space at the heart of the campsite where everyone can come and find inspiration for their holiday. Reception desk, covered outdoor areas for reading, playing, chatting or sipping a drink near our clay oven, children's games or the water area with sauna. Come and meet us, we will make you discover our environment.
Our Vignobles et Découvertes certified campsite is located on the wine route of St Emilion and Pomerol. The small vineyard roads can be discovered at every curve, behind another wine castle. Bicycle paths and cycle tracks are another alternative way to move from Bordeaux to the south Gironde. Walking, from the campsite, discover our village only 5 minutes away and keep going along the numerous hikes that we will guide you through. And why not take the opportunity to discover geocaching with Thom? As we say at home, it's "gavé" of caches around here!
We are located at the crossing of Périgord and Gascony, between Dordogne and Landes. Yes, here we talk about Jurades and red, white and rosé wines and grape juice. But we also talk a lot about sustainable viticulture and biodiversity. We talk about saffron. We talk about chocolatines and canelés. We talk about lamprey, entrecote and foie gras. We talk about the street arts festival in Libourne and the Darwin ecosystem, a sort of ideal city turned towards the green economy on the right bank of Bordeaux.
We talk about Garorock and hot air balloons. We talk about hiking, canoeing and tidal bore (the "Mascaret")...
At the foot of a 13th century castle built by John Lackland - king of England -, our campsite is located in a region marked by England and the Hundred Years' War, the last battle of which took place in Castillon-La-Bataille, a few kilometres away. The reconstitution of this history leads to a beautiful show on summer evenings. In the heart of our village, you can also visit the Célestine cave, the only underground river open to the public in the Gironde.
The numerous medieval bastides give a unique atmosphere to the villages in the surrounding area and the many fortified and Clementine castles (Roquetaillade, Villandraut, Cazeneuve) are witnesses to the rich history of Gascony and Guyenne.
The Garonne and Dordogne rivers from Entre 2 Mers to the port of Bordeaux, then to the beaches of the Atlantic, the wine trade from St Emilion to Sauternes, the gastronomy, the castles and bastides, the history of Eleanor and the crown of England anchor the Bordeaux region in a land with an international reputation. Come and taste the tranquillity of the south-west.
